Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II takes place seven months after the end of 2008's Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, originally released on PlayStation 3 and PSP. This action-packed sequel puts you in control of Starkiller, the lead character from the first game, who may or may not be a clone created by the sinister Darth Vader.
After escaping captivity on Kamino, Starkiller embarks on a journey in search of Juno Eclipse, his love interest from the first game, as well as answers as to whether or not he is in fact the true Starkiller or simply a clone. Over the course of the epic Star Wars story, Starkiller will meet a series of classic characters from George Lucas' incredible universe including Yoda, Jedi Master Rahm Kota and the bounty hunter, Boba Fett.
As you progress through Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II you will unlock numerous challenges that are easily accessible from the main menu. These challenges in turn allow you to hone your lightsaber skills and Force Powers. They also provide a wealth of additional content including brand new costumes for Starkiller such as a TIE Fighter pilot's costume, a Jedi clone outfit and numerous others.
The challenges also open up a series of cinematic scenes that can be viewed outside of the main campaign. Each of these challenges vary in scope and difficulty and feature everything from battling waves of enemies through to simple platforming puzzles on Yoda's home planet of Dagobah.
If you are a serious Star Wars fan then the Collector's Edition is the version for you. Inside it you'll find three exclusive challenges, a new Starkiller character skin and a Starkiller Mimobot 2GB USB drive packed with bonus goodies. These include desktop themes for your PC or Mac, the full screenplay for the game written by producer Hayden Blackman and an interactive digital art book that delves behind the production design of one of 2010's most anticipated PlayStation 3 games.
Master the Force
In Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, your most important weapon in your battle against Darth Vader and his minions is your lightsaber. Mastering each of the attacks it can perform takes a little time, and the benefits include the ability to dish out devastating combos that are perfect for taking down some of the game's enormous foes. Lightsaber attacks are executed by tapping the Square button and can be combined with a series of special Jedi powers that Starkiller possesses, such asn lightning attacks, Force Push and Force Grip.
Force Grips is perfect for picking up enemies and throwing them into one another, off ledges or even into electrical terminals powering force fields that are blocking your path. As you battle enemies you begin to fill up a Force Fury gauge located in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. Once you fill it, you can trigger Force Fury by pressing the L3 and R3 button at the same time. It transforms you into an unstoppable force of nature, inflicting huge amounts of damage on any enemies unfortunate enough to stand in your way. Force Fury is also perfect for quickly destroying some of the game's larger enemies including the AT-ST Walkers you'll encounter on a regular basis throughout the campaign.
Another brand new power to master is the legendary Jedi Mind Trick. It is a clever ability that allows you to control an enemy and turn them against their allies, or even cause them to leap to their demise. Remember to use it when you find yourself in a tight spot and surrounded by hordes of Stormtroopers because it could save your life. As you progress through each of the missions be sure to explore and search for crystals that can transform your lightsaber.
Certain crystals enhance the strength of attacks, while others provide additional health as you slay in battle. You can also upgrade Starkiller's various skills by pressing the SELECT button on your Wireless Controller to access the Upgrade Menu. Here, you can purchase new attacks, combos and Force powers. Each one of these skills can be upgraded a maximum of three times. Remember - use the Force if you want to survive.
