Turn off the lights, hold on real tight to your wireless controller and prepare for a terrifying descent into madness in AMY on PlayStation 3.
Available to download right now from PlayStation Store, this slice of survival horror from developer Lexis Numérique puts you in control of Lana, a young woman escorting an eight-year-old autistic girl called Amy through a city overrun with horrifying creatures and armed soldiers hell-bent on stopping you at every turn.
As the thrilling story progresses, you begin to learn more and more about this special little girl and her strange abilities, which assist you in your quest to escape the confines of the disease-ridden concrete jungle.
It's not going to be an easy journey, so you'll have to have your wits about you as you manoeuvre through desolate streets, underground tunnels and strange facilities filled with creatures of the night.
One of the first things you'll notice when you power up AMY on PlayStation 3 is that the character you control, Lana, becomes more and more infected with a strange disease the longer you spend exploring this eerie world. With that in mind, be sure to check rooms and their surrounding areas for small syringes filled with a vaccine to restore your health. If you don't keep a careful eye on this, you won't last long.
Along the way you'll meet all sorts of characters that will help you on your quest to escape the city with Amy, but there are also sinister forces out there trying to stop you from achieving your goal, so spend a little time searching for a weapon in each area you venture into.
While you can take out the game's infected monsters with a chunky piece of wood, you'll have to be much more cautious when confronted with the military troops patrolling the streets and buildings. These guys are ruthless and will shoot you on sight, so make sure you hide from them inside an empty locker or underneath a desk in an office.
Alongside the combat are plenty of puzzles for you to solve using both Lana and Amy. To do this, you'll need to guide Amy by using the R1 button on your wireless controller to get her to crawl through vents and small spaces in order to reach switches, grab key cards and unlock doors.
You'll also have to use a special device to collect people's DNA data found in pools of blood and on dead bodies to access computer databases in order to progress through the game's gripping storyline. If gathering DNA, hiding under tables and squeezing into tight spots sounds a little too easy, don't be fooled - you'll have to keep a constant watch over your shoulder for the monsters that lurk around every corner as well as the military forces with itchy trigger fingers.
Remember, there are two of you in this and you'll only succeed if you both make it out alive.
