A new premium subscription service is coming to PlayStation Network, bringing you extra value and exclusive services straight into your home - welcome to PlayStation Plus.
Available from 29 June 2010 and accessible via your PlayStation 3 when connected to PlayStation Network, PlayStation Plus gives you the option to purchase a membership which expands and enhances your experience for the small fee of €14.99/£11.99 for 90 days, or €49.99/£39.99 for the whole year.
What do you get for your money? Well, PlayStation Plus features include access to loads of content, such as games, game add-ons, avatars and dynamic themes - all at no extra cost. On top of this, members will get exclusive discounts on PlayStation Store each month and even early access to selected game beta trials and demos before anyone else.As a PlayStation Plus member you will also have access to some new PSN features designed to enhance your gaming experience. Firstly, you will be able to try games before you buy them in a whole new way each month. Full Game Trial allows you to download selected games in full and play them for a limited period of time before you decide if you want to buy them. Then if you do buy them, your progress and the trophies earned during the trial will be unlocked and saved so you can pick up from where you left off.
As a PlayStation Plus member you can also take advantage of Automatic Downloads which is a new feature that lets you set your PS3 to wake itself up, download your game updates, the latest system software updates and new game demos directly to your PS3 without lifting a finger. Your PS3 will then turn itself off, ready with fresh content for when you next play.
If you subscribe for a year's membership before 3 August 2010, you not only get all of the features above, you'll also be able to claim a free copy of the award winning PlayStation 3 platform title LittleBigPlanet.
